Aerosols
Environmental benefits: every year the UK uses around 600 million aerosol cans made out of steel.
Steel can be recycled over and over again, to make anything from cars and bicycles to more aerosol cans, without any loss of quality. Recycling one tonne of steel cans saves 1.5 tonnes of iron ore, 0.5 tonnes of coal and 40 per cent water usage.
How to recycle: there are more than 2000 recycling banks in the UK where you can dispose of your aerosols.
Remember to recycle all your toiletry aerosols from the bedroom and bathroom as well! Do not pierce or crush the aerosol can and make sure it’s empty.
