What you can do

It could be organizing an event, making simple changes around the home or trying new ways to travel: find lots of ideas for making a difference right here.

And your Champion is…

Over the last eight weeks, we’ve been asking members of Team Green Britain to vote for one of ten inspiring individuals. Each with a plan to make their community a better place to live.

The votes are in. The counting is done. And we have a winner. Time to find out who it is.

What you can do

We want you on our team. We believe that by trying new ways of doing things you’ll not only help to cut the UK’s CO2 emissions but also have fun. Here's where you can find sustainable new approaches to home, food and travel (the three areas that account for more than 50% of your carbon footprint).

Join the Low Carbon Rush Hour

Changing our commuting habits could make a major contribution to cutting the UK's carbon footprint and with the average commuter driving less than 9 miles a day there are plenty of healthy, low-carbon alternatives available. Swapping your car journey to work for a cycle ride, a jog or a walk isn't just good for the planet - it can help you to stay active, sleep better and be mentally alert and ready for the day.
