The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch on Sunday 18th July is the grand finale to Team Green Britain's summer of events. It's aimed at helping us get to know each other better and discover how, together, people can make a difference.
It's a one-day get together with your neighbours and can be anything from a bring-your-own picnic to a full-blown street party. It's entirely up to you. And it doesn't need to cost the earth either. Kick-started by the Eden Project, The Big Lunch is all about making do with good old British thrift and wit. So roll up your sleeves, knock on your neighbours' doors and invite them to take part by cooking up tasty food, creating decorations and making your own entertainment.
If you need a little help with your Big Lunch, www.thebiglunch.com is full of ideas. And we've got some tasty recipes from eco-restaurateur Jamie Grainger-Smith, plus a celebrity playlist from DJ Lauren Laverne that should get the party started. You can even find a Big Lunch near you or register your own.
Celebrate the big day by trying a new dish using locally-sourced, seasonal food.
